-3/4(3r/2 + 1) - 11r/3 = 5/4(3r/2 + 1 )
Notice the common factor of 3r/2 + 1. Bring them both to one side so you can factor them out.
-3/4(3r/2 + 1) - 5/4(3r/2 + 1) = 11r/3
(3r/2 + 1)(-3/4 - 5/4) = 11r/3
-8/4 or -2(3r/2 + 1) = 11r/3
-3r - 2 = 11r/3 mult both sides by 3
-9r - 6 = 11r → -20r = 6 → r = -6/20 = -3/10
You can check by substituting -3/10 into the original equation (might to be easier to use -0.3 and use a calculator).
