I assume that you mean y = (3-x)/2x You can rearrange this to solve for x(y):
2xy = 3-x
x(2y+1) = 3
x = 3/(2y+1)
So, x+ 3 = 3/(2y+1) + 3 = (3+6y+3)/(2y+1) = (6y+6)/(2y+1)
