If you are asking how many solutions there are to the system of equations:
y = 3x + 1 and y = 3x + 7
then there are no solutions. "y" cannot be equal to both 3x + 1 AND 3x + 7. To prove it mathematically, since y = 3x + 1 AND y = 3x + 7, then 3x + 1 must equal 3x + 7
3x + 1 = 3x + 7 subtract 3x from both sides to get:
1 = 7
But 1 is never equal to 7 no matter what you pick for x, so there are no solutions.
