The longest snake species held in captivity in the world today is generally accepted to be the Reticulated Python “Medusa”, owned by a haunted house business (The Edge of Hell) owned by Full Moon Productions in Kansas City, MO. Medusa is reportedly still alive. The 8-year-old snake weighs about 350 lbs. and is a whopping 25’-2”.
Before Medusa there was Fluffy, another Reticulated Python in Ohio’s Columbus Zoo who measured 24’.
This species of snake typically lives in Southeast Asia, Indonesia and the Philippines; and they’re terrific swimmers (but all snake species can swim).
