Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
y= (1/2)x + 8
switch x and y and solve for the new y
x =(1/2)y+8
y = 2x -16
f^-1(x) = 2x-16
or if you meant
y=1/(2x) + 8
x= 1/2y + 8
x-8 = 1/2y
2y = 1/(x-8)
y = 1/(2x-16)
f^-1(x) = 1/(2x-16)
or if you meant
y=1/(2x+8)
x= 1/(2y+8)
2y+8 = 1/x
2y = 1/x - 8
y = 1/2x -8x/2x
f^-1(x) = (1-8x)/2x

Izabella, when using the forward slash "/" to create fractions it is important to use grouping symbols for the numerator and denominator, when there are multiple terms involved. Likely you meant 1/(2x+8), but this could be interpreted as (1/2)x + 8 too.10/13/22
