If I went to the store and i spent $31.80 on notebooks and pencils. And each notebook cost $2.05 and each pencil cost $1.50 each. And I bought a total of 19 notebooks and pencilled how many of each did she buy?

multiply by 1.5

1.5P+ 2.05N= 31.80

1.5P + 1.5N = 19(1.5) = 28.5

subtract to get

0.55N = 3.3

N= 3.3/.55 = 30/5 = 6 Notebook

and 19-6 = 13 Pencils

1.5(13) + 2.05(6) = 19.5 + 12.3 = 31.8
