Pythagorean theorem
a2+ b2 = c2
a and b are the two sides of the triangle (ground & building)
c is the hypotenuse (ladder)
So...
52+ b2 = 102
25 + b2 = 100
Subtract 25 from both sides (to isolate the variable)
b2 = 75
Take the square root of each side
b = √75
b = √25√3
b = 5√3
The height of the building is 5√3 feet.
