if the museum lobby were 20 by 20 by 20, with 4 walls and a ceiling to be painted, that's about 20x20 = 400 ft^2 for the ceiling, and another 4 times 20x20 for each wall, for a total 2,000 ft^2 which requires 2000/400 = 5 gallons of paint
$27.85 per gallon times 5 = $139.25 cost to paint the place
