A triangle has a perimeter of 95 yards. The first side is twice the length of the second side. The third side is 7 yards longer than the second side. How long is each side ?

T =S+7 Third side = 7 more than the Second side

F+S+T = 95 = Perimeter = sum of all 3 sides

substitute from 1st & 2nd equations into the 3rd to get

2S +S + S+7 = 95

combine like terms

4S = 88

S =22 yards = length of the Second side

F=44 yards = length of the First side

T = 95-22-44 = 29 = 22+7 = 29 yards = length of the Third side
