If we consider the factors of the numbers inside the parentheses, we can factor out a “3” to obtain the equality reading…
6+(9+6)=6+3(3+2)………..3 is distributed to “3” and “2” inside the parentheses
We can also factor 2 out the first term “6” to rewrite…
6+(9+6)=2(2+1)+3(3+2)….2 is distributed to”2” and”1” inside the parentheses
6+15=2(3)+3[5]…………..simplify inside parentheses, addition
6+15=6+15…………...…..simplify, multiplication
21=21………..…………….True√. Always check your work.
∴ Factoring out the “2” from the first term, and “3” from the second term, does illustrate use of the Distributive Property….2(2+1) + 3(3+2) is the required answer form.
