I'm assuming you want this in the form ax + by = c
You're given point and a slope so the best equation to use is point-slope form which is y - y1 = m(x-x1). Since we know the ordered pair (7,9) i.e. (x1, y1) and we know the slope (m) = -5 we now have the equation
y - 9 = -5(x-7). We need to distribute and rearrange some terms in order to put it in ax + by = c standard form.
y - 9 = -5x + 35 then we add 5x to both sides and add 9 to both sides to get
5x + y = 44
