if two lines are perpendicular, they form a 90 degree angle. if 2 angles are complementary, they sum to 90, but both are less than 90. All 3 angles of a triangle = 180. The 3rd angle = 180-90= 90, so it can't be = or < either of the 2 complementary angles, as both are less than 90, and the 3rd angle = 90. 90>/= an angle that's <90.
