For the point (6, -1) in a 2-dimensional (x & y) plane,
there would be one possible line through (6, -1) that
could be called "vertical" (that is to say, parallel to or
never crossing the y-axis).
One can express this line by simply writing x = 6; all points
with x equal to 6 will fall on the vertical line sought; the value
of y here can be any "real" number --- positive, negative, or zero.
