The shortest known adult woman is about 24 inches tall and the tallest known adult woman is about 92 inches tall. Write an absolute value equation that represents the minimum and maximum heights. Use x to represent the heights.

subtract 58 from left, middle and right sides

58 is the average of 24 and 92 = (24+92)/2 =116/2 = 58

24-58 < x-58 < 92-58

-34<x -58< 34

which is the same as:

|x-58| < 34

the absolute value of (x-58) is less than or equal to 34, but

instead of the equality underline, _, under the inequality sign, <,

use a wiggly wavy type line ,~, to indicate approximately equal, instead of exactly equal

the absolute value of (x-58) is less than or approximately or about equal to 34

this keyboard doesn't seem to allow that
