The selling of the new blend is to be $4.50 per pound, and there is to be no difference in revenue from selling the new blend versus selling the other types. How many pounds of the Earl grey tea and orange pekoe tea are required?

5G+3(200-G) = 4.5(200)

5G-3G = (4.5-3)(200)

2G = 1.5(200)

G =1.5(100) = 150 pounds of Gray

P=200-150 = 50 pounds of Pekoe

check the answer:

5(150)+3(50) = 750+150=900 = 4.5(200)

5-4.5 =.5

4.5-3 = 1.5

1.5/.5 =3

3 times as much Gray as Pekoe

150/50= 3
