He started with M=$1050,
gave 2/7(1050)= $300 to his wife,
leaving $1050-300= $750
he spent 3/5 of $750 = $450
leaving $750-$450== $300
M-(2/7)M = (5/7)M
he spent (3/5)(5/7)M = (3/7)M
leaving (5/7)M-(3/7)M = (2/7)M = 300
2M/7=300
M= 300(7/2)
