Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
x^2 +12x +32 = 0
(x+8)(x+4) = 0
x =-4,-8= two roots
sum =-12
product = 32
sum of squares =16+64 = 80

Another way you can find the sum and the product of the roots is by using two little formulas.
The sum of the roots= -b/a and the product of the roots = c/a
for x^2 + 12x + 32 = 0.... a= 1 b = 12 and c = 32
sum= -12/1 product = 32/1
sum = -12 product = 32
