midpoint is the average of the coordinates

((sqr2+sqr-2)/2, (sqr3+sqr-12)/2)

= (sqr2/2 +sqr-2/2, sqr3/2+sqr-12/2)

= (sqr2/2 +isqr2/2, sqr3/2+ isqr3)
