9.1 ft^2 = 9.1(7.48)(8.33)= about 567 lbs
2000 lbs = 1 ton = the US ton = "short ton"
9.1 ft^2 = 9.1(7.48)(8.33)/2,000 about 0.2835 tons = a little over 1/4 ton
but Britain uses the long ton = 2240 lbs
the metric ton = 2004.6 pounds
If you want one of those "tons" divide by 2240 or 2004.6 instead of 2,000
which give smaller fractions of a ton
