a line passes through the point (x1,y1) and has slope =m
(y- y1)= m(x-x1) in point slope form
general equation in point slope form is
y=mx +b where m=slope and b = y intercept
y = m(x-x1) +y1
y = mx -mx1 +y1, m=slope and y1-mx1 = y intercept
for example, if the point is (0,4) and slope = 3
then
the line in slope intercept form is: y=3x +4
y=mx -mx1 +y1
y = 3x -3(0)+4
y =3x +4
