Ur mom drives 200 miles per hour to pick u up from school and you school is 23 miles away. How long does it take for ur mom to come pick you up and take you back home.

D = RT, so 23 miles = 200 mi/hr * T (in hrs). That means T = 23 miles/200 miles/hr
T = 23/200 miles * hr/miles = 23/200 hours.
T = .115 hours or 23/200 (60) minutes = 6.9 minutes.
Your teacher gave you this problem to see if you could use the formula for distance = rate * time.
