A flagpole’s shadow was measured to be 44.78 m long, and the angle of elevation to the top of the pole from the end of the shadow was 15°. Find the height of the flagpole. (3 marks)

opposite would be length on the shadow.

adjacent side would be height of pole.

we know that trig function tanx= opposite/adjacent, with x as the angle

tan(15) = 44.78/(pole height)

solve for pole height

pole height = 44.78/tan(15) = 167.15
