Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
plug the point (-5,4) into each equation
the first one is y=2x+8
4=2(-5)+8
4=-10+8
4=-2
it doesn't work, 4 doesn't equal -2, so it's not on the line
y=-5x
4=-5(-5)
4=25
it doesn't work, so it's not on the line
4x=7
4(-5)=7
-20=7. it doen't work, it's no on the line
3y=9
3(4)=9,
12= 9, it doen't work, it's not on the line
y=1/2x-1
4=(1/2)(-5)-1 = -7/2
it's not on the line
x=5y=-3
-5=5(4) =-3
-5=20=-3 no matter how you interpret that equation, it doesn't work. It's not on the line
-6x+6y = -17
-6(-5)+6(4) =-17
30+24 =-17
54=-17 doen't work. It's not on the line
3x+3y = 17
3(-5)+3(4) =17
-15+12 =17
-3 = 17 it doesn't work, it's not on the line
if there had been an equation such as
x+y = -1
then
-5+4=-1
-1 =-1 then it would be on the line
the point is not on the line of any of the equations
