h(x) = -x-3 find h(-6)
substitute -6 everywhere there is an x
h(-6) = -(-6) - 3
= 6 - 3 [-(-6) is a double negative --> 6]
h(-6) = 3
- a function is a relation between x and y values which states that for any value of x (input) there is only one value of y (output)
- when x = -6, the value of y = 3 and only 3
