By washing cars, Beatrice and Hannah raised $2,000 total. If Beatrice raised $600 more than Hannah, how much money did Hannah raise?

Imagine a rectangle and draw it lengthwise across your page. The entire rectangle represents $2000. Draw a vertical line within the rectangle about a third of the distance from the left end. Then do the same from the right end. You should then have a portion in the middle of the rectangle representing the additional $600 the one girl earned. Each end represents the amount that both girls earned equally.
