Find a formula for the moose population, PP, in terms of tt, the years since 1990.

slope = 3600/-2 = -1800 = (P-1100)/(t-6)

p-1100 = -1800t + 10800

P = -1800t + 11900

where t = number of years since 1990

in 2004, t=14

P= -1800(14) +11800

= -25200 +11900

=negative 13300

moose population in 2004 = zero

the moose died out, became extinct when t=6 5/9 or the year 1996 to 1997
