In 1995, the moose population in a park was measured to be 3000. By 1999, the population was measured again to be 4200. If the population continues to change linearly:
Find a formula for the moose population, PP, in terms of tt, the years since 1990.

Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
(5,3000), (9,4200) have a line through them with slope = 1200/4= 300 = (p-3000)/(t-5)
P=300t-1500+3000
P=300t +1500 where t= the number of years since 1990 and P=moose population
for 2004, t= 2004-1990= 14
P=300(14)+1500
= 4200+1500
= 5,700 moose in 2004
