Experienced Instructor in Prealgebra, Algebra I and II, SAT/ACT Math.
S = no. same-day tickets @ $25 ea; A = no. advance tickets @ $35 ea.
Need two equations because there are two unknowns.
One equation is for no. of tickets: A + S = 55
Other is for $'s: 35A + 25S = 1725
Best is to use substitution method: A = 55 - S
So new equation is 35(55 - S) + 25S = 1725.
You should be able to solve for S and use that result in the first equation to find A.
