- Primary Structure- This is the chain of amino acids that are formed via peptide bonds (Dehydration Reaction!)
- Secondary Structure- This is a structure that forms when the amino group and the carbonyl group of a polypeptide chain hydrogen bond. This can manifest itself as either a α helix or a β pleated sheet.
- Tertiary Structure- A higher level of structure which accounts for most of a protein's folding. Is governed by interactions such as hydrogen bonds and ionic bonds between R groups.
- Quaternary Structure- The highest level of protein structure that results from interactions between several polypeptide subunits.
