Use PEMDAS, the order of operations
First Parentheses if any
2nd Exponents of which there is one
3rd Multiplication
4th Division
5th Addition
Last Subtraction
Answer is 36. but screw up on one step and you're possibly far off
your instructor may be a little sadistic for giving you this question
but then no guarantees I got this right.
Just follow PEMDAS very carefully. Or you get lots of points off.
but even if you get it wrong, at least put down PEMDAS and how you applied it, to avoid
too many points off.
