The lower quartile is the median of the lower half of the data.
The lower half contains [1,1,1]. Its median is the middle number of that set, which is 1.
Q3 would be the median of the upper half of the data [3,4,6],so 4.
Also the median of the entire data set is the middle number. Since there is an even number of elements you have to find the average of the two elements in the middle: [1,1,1,3,4,6]. So Q2 is the average of 1 and 3 = 2.
