5/7 becomes (5 + x)/(7 - 2x) = 8 per the question.
5 + x = 8(7 - 2x) -> 5 + x = 56 - 16x -> 17x = 51 -> x = 51/17 = 3 (not 2)
check: (5 + 3)/(7 - 6) = 8 Answer is B (False)
