 is bordered (and surrounded) by a fence. Inside, a walk that is 2ft

 wide goes all the way along the fence. Find the area of this walk. Be sure to include the correct unit in your answer.

area of the yard = 35x47 = 1645

area of the yard plus the walk = (35+2(2))x(47+2(2) = 39x51= 1989

1989-1645 = 344 square feet = area of the walk
