generally the eoc counts 20% of the final grade, although North Carolina weights it as 25%
if it counts 20% then the 63 average grade counts 80%
with an eoc of 40%
your final grade
= .2(40) +.8(63)
= 8 + 50.4
= 58.4 = final grade
& you failed with an F+
with an eoc of 50%
your final grade
= .2(50) + .8(63)
= 10+50.4
=60.4
& you passed with a D-
in North Carolina
you failed with a 40% eoc
but with 50%
.25(50) + .75(63)
=12.5 + 47.25 = 59.75
most would round up
so you'd have a final grade of 60
and pass with a D-
eoc is similar to a Final Exam
eoc means End of Course test
which you can fail, but still pass the course
depending on the numbers. But it's mandatory
in many states to take the eoc.
