Peroxidases Reduce Peroxides Using Various Electron Acceptors

Hello,

I have just read this in Harper Biochemistry book :

Peroxidases Reduce Peroxides Using Various Electron Acceptors :

In the reaction catalyzed by peroxidase, hydrogen peroxide is reduced at the expense of several substances that act as electron acceptors, such as ascorbate (vitamin C), quinones, and cytochrome c.

I think, it is false, isnt it?

The enzymes reduce Peroxide and to do this they should use the other substances as Electron donors, not as electron acceptors.

What do you think?
