asked 04/18/22The length of a rectangle is 3 yd longer than its width. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 70 yd, find its length and width.
please give me the answer to this problem!

Experienced Instructor in Prealgebra, Algebra I and II, SAT/ACT Math.
Perimeter = 2L + 2W. In this case L = W + 3 so can substitute for L in the formula.
P = 2(W + 3) + 2W. Simplify by using the distribution rule and use P = 70 to solve for W. Then can find L.
Check your result to be sure total perimeter is 70.
