12.5P + 9.5R = 977.5 = total money collected

multiply 1st equation by 9.5

9.5P + 9.5R = 9.5(95) = 902.5

subtract last equation from 2nd equation to get

12.5P - 9.5P = 977.5-902.5

3P = 75

divide by 3

P = 75/3 = 25

25 were sold at the original Price

95-25 = 70 sold at the Reduced price

12.5(25) +9.5(70) = 312.5 + 665 =977.5
