Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
4 pounds of walnuts and 8 pounds of chocolate chips cost $21
4W + 8C = 21
2 pounds of walnuts and 3 pounds of chocolate chips cost $9
2W +3C = 9
multiply by 2
4W +6C = 18
subtract the last equation from the 1st
8C -6C = 21-18
2C = 3
C = 3/2 = $1.50 for one pound of chocolate chips
2W = 9-3C = 9-3(1.5) = 9-4.5 = 4.5
W = 4.5/2 = $2.25 for one pound of walnuts
chec the answers
4(2.25) + 8(1.5) = 9+12 = 21
2(2.25) + 3(1.5) = 4.5+4.5 = 9
