Need a math tutor? I am a local Albany State Univ. math tutor
Let's say you have 2 complimentary angles, x and y
So x + y = 90
if x is 17.2 degrees less than the measure of a complementary angle, then x = y - 17.2
Putting this into our x + y = 90 equation, we get
(y - 17.2) + y = 90
2y - 17.2 = 90
2y = 90 + 17.2
2y = 107.2
y = 107.2/2 = 53.6 degrees.
so x = 53.6 - 17.2 = 36.4 degrees.
