-1/3m = -7-1 = -8
m = 1/24 = 0.041666....
UNLESS by chance you may have meant to write (-1/3)m + 1 = 7
then
(-1/3)m = -7-1 = -8
m = -8/(-3) = 8/3 or 2 2/3
m = 2.666....
as written, mathematically 1/24 is the answer
but sometimes the problem gets ambigously written, and it's possible 2 2/3 is the answer
