Hey!
I'm assuming the quadratic is written as (x+3)2-4. The first thing we need before putting this in standard form is to expand it. (You can use any method you know to square binomials - FOIL, expansion charts, etc.)
You should get x2+6x+9. Tacking on the (-4), we have:
y = x2+6x+9 -4.
The standard form for a quadratic equation is ALWAYS:
ax2+bx+c. (with a not equal to zero).
Our equation is almost there! One more step and it will be in standard form. Hope this helps!
