P = 5e^.02(10) = 5e^0.2=5(1221402758)

=about estimated 6,107,0137,910 population in 1997

if 5 billion in f987 with 2% annual exponential growth rate

but since A was seemingly rounded to the nearest billion, it might be more accurate to round the answer to the nearest billion and call it 6 billion.
