slope of f(x) = "rise over run" = the difference in y divided by difference in x
= (-10--15)/(0--1)= -5/-1 = 5
f(x) = 5x -10
g(x) = 2x + 8
The slope of f(x) = 2.5 times the slope of g(x), 5 = 2.5(2)
The slope is the coefficient of the x term, when the equation is solved for y
y=mx +b is the slope intercept form for a linear function where m=slope and b=intercept
g(x) has the greater y intercept. 8>-10
the constant term is the y intercept. f(x) has a y intercept = -10, g(x) has y intercept = 8
