Obviously, the percentage of battery remaining IS NOT A DIRECT FUNCTION of distance from the house.


However. both distance and percentage of battery ARE EACH A DIRECT FUNCTION OF TIME, therefore they may be a direct function of each other (if there is only one value of battery for a given distance or vice versa).


Since battery goes DOWN as distance goes UP, this is an INVERSE RELATIONSHIP.


An inverse relationship can be written as:

(%battery) = k / (distance)
