Math, microeconomics or criminal justice
15.90/10 = $1.59 per pound
15.90/1.20 = 13.25 pounds, 6.625 pounds of M&M and 6.625 pounds of Reese
will get 10 pounds which can be sold for total $15.90 with 3 1/4 pounds left over
That's the only way the problem seems to make sense
usually though this type of problem has one of the two less than $1.59 and the other greater than $1.59.
As there is no way to mix the two if to get $1.59 if both are less than $1.59 and get 10 pounds.
for example, if M&M cost $1.20 and Reese cost $2.20, then the problem would be
2.20x + 1.2(10-x) = 1.59(10 = 15.90
2.20x - 1.2x = 15.90- 12
x = 3.9 pounds of Reese mixed with 6.1 pounds of M&M to get a 10 lb mixture costing $15.90
2.2(3.9) + 1.2(6.1) = 15.9
8.58 +7.32 = 15.9
