Slope-intercept form is written in the equation y=mx+b. The information we know is the slope (m) as well as a point (-2,6). What we need now is the y-intercept (b).
To solve for the y-intercept (b) we need to input the information we know.
We know y is 6, m is 5, and x is -2. The equation should like: 6=5(-2)+b
Continuing on, 5(-2) is simply 5 times -2 which is -10. So now the equation is 6=-10+b
Now to get b, we need to add 10 to the right side to cancel it out and add ten to the left since we need to do this process for both sides. 6+10=-10+10+b
This means b is 16.
Our final step is to create the equation in which all you need to do is rewrite the slope-intercept equation of y=mx+b and substitute m and b with the correct numbers. We know m is 5 and b is 16.
So our answer would be y=5x+16
