multiply both sides by 29

29A +29C = 436(29) = 12644

subtract from the next equation

29C + 56A -17180

29C +29A = 12644

subtract to eliminate C

27A = 4536

divide by 27

A = 4536/27 = 168 adults

C = 436-168 = 268 children

check the answers

168+268 = 436

29(268) + 56(168) = 7772+ 9408= 17180
