Use point-slope eqn: y - y1 = m(x - x1) m= -1/2
Substituting: (y - (- 2)) = -1/2(x - 2)
y + 2 = (-1/2)x + 1 Subtraction is addition of the opposite. Use distribution rule for rt side of eqn.
Subtract 2 from both sides: y = (-1/2)x - 1 (1 - 2 = -1)
