o + 25 = 3(b + 25)
b + 152 + 25 = 3b + 75
-2b = -102
b = 51 years

I had included 25 years in my equation originally but as 25(152+x)=3x - but then I got no integer then I thought maybe the problem is trying to fool me by including 25 years so then I thought primitively as only: 152+x= 3x Then I got the answer 76 and not 51 :/

Margaret, if you are 17 now, in 25 years, are you going to be 17 + 25 = 42 or 25(7) = 425 years old?

Thank you very much for the solution but in the problem talking about years how can you add 25 years don't you usually multiply 25 as 25 times as : 25(152+x). Of course it looks easier to just add but that is certainly not the first thing that comes to my mind when I set up the problem as an equation.02/17/22
