An older person is 5 years older than four times the age of a younger person. The sum of their ages is 30. Find their ages

E = 5 + 4Y

E + Y = 30

5+4Y + Y = 30

5Y = 30-5 = 25

Y = 25/5 = 5 years old for the younger one

E = 30-5 = 25 years old for the older "Elder" guy
